MEET THE HOSTS

The Rebel Radio Team is made up of folks who are extremely passionate about Country Radio.   They love Country music; the new, the legends, the locals and the artists who don’t seem to have a home on other country radio stations.

Our staff loves you – the Kinfolk!  We have great respect for the community, support local business, and stand for law enforcement and our Military!  We have everyone from a boxing instructor to a NASCAR Spotter!  We even have a beer-drinking redneck who loves penguins!

There is no way I can thank you enough for taking the time out of your busy day to check out the station's website and my page. Thanks for the interest! I'm extremely blessed to be the new owner of this radio station with my lovely wife and several investors who saw the vision of bringing the best country to Lynchburg, VA!

Carson Johnson

I'm Carson, the Rebel's resident conspiracy theorist and literary geek. Country music has been a part of who I am for my entire life - in fact my earliest memory is riding in my mom's car and Charlie Daniels' The Devil Went Down To Georgia came on the radio. It wasn't much later I got in trouble in the first grade for singing it in class. You can hang out with me on the radio during the morning show where I'm usually letting loose my latest conspiracy, in the afternoons from 2 to 7.

Kurt Ward

I grew up in the foothills of NC, where every evening my dad would turn on the radio and listen to the news and the obituaries. Much of my journalism experience is in the world of sports reporting, and I have covered everything from pee-wee football to local stock car racing to Olympic athletes to professional sports (such as NASCAR). Marsha, my wife of more than 27 years, is an Alamance County native and a graduate of Western Alamance. We have three amazing children -- Ashley, Brad, and Casey.

Scott Hendren

I was raised up on bluegrass, gospel and country music in the Brushy Mountains of North Wilkesboro. I learned from an early age that music could bring a variety of emotions up especially making you feel good! That’s when I developed my passion for music and DJing. I love to play music that makes people feel good! I went on to DJ at clubs in Greensboro like Daddio’s, The Palomino Club and Arizona Pete’s! My first radio job was at 98.7 Kiss FM and Kiss Country. I have a passion for music, tattoos, and fast cars! I also enjoy long walks on the beach and nice candle lit dinners, wait, sorry I thought this was my dating profile!

Coop

Coop grew up in Virginia listening to Country Music legends like George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Tanya Tucker!  From as early as he can remember, he was going to concerts, including his very first one at age 5 to see Wynona Judd!  At the age of 15, he got an internship at his hometown radio station and has been working in radio ever since, and living and breathing the Country Music lifestyle!

Now, with three kids, including his youngest (age 3) named Cash after the legendary Man in Black, Coop gets to live out a life long dream of playing Country Music on the radio.
